Cordell city council this week approved a contract with cardinal engineering to provide an engineering study for a water line replacement project. City administrator J.C. Moser says the city has been considering the loan/grant program through USDA. However, Moser says USDA officials cannot be reached to get more details on the program because of the government shutdown. Mayor Bob Plummer says another option the city can explore is a community development block grant. City officials say the engineering study will cost the city $17,500.
